This role involves strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, as well as managing the Accounting, Tax, Internal Control, Payroll, Account Receivables and Account Payable disciplines. Position also ensures all subsidiaries and regional satellite departments are meeting set governmental and statutory protocols. Responsibilities include create and manage Central Office budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. This position will also be a key contributor in efforts to improve and create processes that ensure efficient process and controls. Additionally, this position will coordinate and execute relationships with hotel´s owners and with colleagues in different areas at Marriott International to ensure alignment with financial goals and strategies. SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT/EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS + This position will oversee hotels in Mexico included in the Central Office scope. + Manage a team of +60 (sixty) finance and accounting professionals, prioritize projects and workload of the team and its individual members, and establish deadlines around those priorities. + Financial Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's goals. + Budget Management: Create and manage budgets for various departments, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. + Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and present them to the different stakeholders. + Working Capital Analysis: Make analysis and negotiate and require completing it when there is a shortfall that put in risk the hotel normal operations. + Risk Management: Analyze financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. + Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial local laws, regulations, and best practices. + Leadership: Hire, train, and oversee finance staff, providing direction and evaluations. + Audit and Control: Oversee internal audits and control operations to ensure accuracy and compliance. + Owner Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with the hotel's owners, ensuring their interests are represented and aligned with financial strategies. + Serve as point-of-contact for stakeholders across the organization as it relates to shared service accounting questions/issues. + Supports CALA in region wide projects and goals. + Performs other duties as assigned. CANDIDATE PROFILE + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred. + **Experience** : Proven experience as a Director of Finance or similar role. + **Skills:** + In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, USALI and fiscal principles. + Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. + Excellent organizational and leadership skills. + Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in simple terms. + Strong interpersonal skills to manage owner relationships effectively. + Experience with PeopleSoft, Sun and Birchstreet systems. + Able to develop and maintain effective client relationships and promote a client service orientation that delivers customer results. + Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment. + Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and under pressure. Comfort with challenging status quo to improve effectiveness. + At ease in an environment of change, supports, manages and initiates change within the organization. + Proven experience in the recruitment, development, and leadership of a strong team within a multi-tasked environment. + Demonstrates sound organizational and prioritization skills, high performance levels under tight deadlines. + High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and integrity. + Strong business process and project management skills; capable of developing effective project plans and processes, ensuring compliance with existing processes and producing quality results. + Fluency in speaking, writing, and reading in Spanish and English. + Able to develop and maintain effective client relationships and promote a client service orientation that delivers customer results. + Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment. + Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and under pressure.
