Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Lead co-engineering and industrial development activities to ensure product and process designs are optimized for manufacturability.Guarantee the transferability of industrial activities through the application of standard processes.Coordinate industrialization resources across all project phases: tender, development, pre-series, and series production.Oversee the management of Special Processes and critical operations to ensure product safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

During Tender Phase

Define industrial assumptions (PI0, MoB, macro-process) aligned with industrial references and standard manufacturing practices (SMP/SML) for the product range.Review and validate quotations related to industrial costs.

During Project Execution

Implement standard processes and product solutions: SMP/SML, standard equipment, and methodologies.Ensure product manufacturability and transferability through approved technologies.Apply co-engineering practices and guidelines to reduce lead time and enhance development quality.Participate in Design for Transfer (DFT) gate reviews and validate readiness for Serial Go.Ensure accurate and timely documentation and ERP data entry with appropriate quality standards.Organize the timely implementation of manufacturing equipment, in compliance with EHS standards and ergonomic requirements, and aligned with project cost targets.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide production support.

Resource Management

Manage team capacity and technical competencies.Monitor current and projected workloads.Ensure EHS compliance within the industrialization scope and actively participate in management committees.Contribute to PME networks and help build or refine internal standards.Promote team engagement in relevant internal and external networks.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Technical or engineering education.Strong leadership and management skills.Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Experience & Skills

Minimum 10 years of industrial experience, preferably in the railway sector and within an international context.Proven ability to lead teams of engineers and technicians.Solid technical background in process engineering, including development and optimization of work instructions, line balancing, and lean manufacturing principles.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for managing Bill of Materials, routings, and configuration tracking.Familiarity with quality and health & safety standards and systems.
