As a Manager, Upstream Processing, you will lead a cross-functional group responsible for implementing mammalian cell culture and protein purification processes in support of clinical and commercial biologic manufacturing. Your expertise will supply delivering flawless and world-class products within regulatory, quality, customer, and corporate expectations.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations, including resource oversight, planning, delegation, and collaboration, to ensure departmental commitments and results are achieved.Establish departmental and individual expectations, provide direction and feedback, mentor and develop the team, and enforce company policies.Encourage and supervise a culture of compliance regarding Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.Collaborate with other departments to address important or critical issues and improve processes.Address challenges, establish protocols, and manage departmental and site projects.Conduct hiring, training, and staff evaluations to develop a highly respected and engaged team.Serve as a leader on departmental and site teams to improve and challenge processes, solve problems, initiate improvements, establish procedures, transfer new products or technologies, and projects, etc.Ensure adequate resources are dedicated to correcting important or critical issues via personal involvement, delegated resources, and/or appropriate concern. This often involves collaborative interaction with other departments, especially Planning/Scheduling, Quality, Process Engineering/Validation and Engineering/Facilities.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field, or equivalent experience.7-10 years of industry experience in a cGMP environment.5-10 years of proven management experience with a focus on leadership and talent development.Strong understanding of production processes, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.Proactively takes initiative and demonstrates strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.Strong skills to influence and build effective teams, gain agreement via collaboration, and handle difficult situations with tact and subtlety.Unquestionable integrity, dedication to EH&S and accountability when enforcing teams to follow regulations and procedures.Expert in oral and written communication (verbal and written in English).Join Thermo Fisher Scientific, a company that values inclusion, collaboration, and innovation.
