Manager, Finance

The successful candidate will lead all financial activities at the site while ensuring that all are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner:

AOP and Monthly Forecasting

Financial Reporting, Control and Compliance

Capital Review Governance

Exploitation of Site Business Systems and Services

Ensure site leadership team has a solid understanding of key financials

Accountability

Member of Bend Site Leadership Team

Interact directly with site & BU finance team for reporting to above site groups

Responsible for review of balance sheets accounts

Support Financial Audits & Sarbanes Oxley audits.

Actively support the culture of continuous improvement, working towards standardization and improved performance

Operate according to agreed processes and in compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and procedures

Decision Making Responsibility

Able to work under limited direct supervision and complete assignments with limited instruction

Provide insight and be true business partner to GM and Site Leadership Team

Participate in and deliver operational improvement and other projects within and outside of Finance group as appropriate

Delivery of agreed objectives for area of responsibility, building positive relationships to influence and implement change

Quality Responsibilities

Perform duties in a compliant manner and behave in accordance with our Quality Management System requirements

Participate fully in our site’s quality initiatives and ensure that all relevant quality standards are adhered to

Read and understand relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Global Quality applicable to role

Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate team interactions and partner with and influence key partners (including Finance, R&D, Product Management and the Commercial team)

Good facilitation and presentation skills

Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Finance/Accounting designation is preferred

Experience

Proven experience in Finance related roles, preferably in a manufacturing organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong systems knowledge and experience, with advanced capabilities in modern financial technologies, including SAP, ChangePoint, Power BI, SmartSheet, and Microsoft Office programs

Proven ability to implement continuous improvement projects through digital and automation initiatives

Solid understanding of budgeting, financial forecasting, accounting cycle, internal controls and auditing requirements

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with the English language and the ability to communicate with non-accounting professionals clearly and concisely

Equivalency

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
