Distribution ManagerUnder the direction of the Snr Manager, Distribution, the position will lead the operation of the distribution centre in Ireland. Supervising and coordinating all activities related to the reception, storage and shipping of goods, and at the same time maintaining a meticulous and accurate inventory control. Having responsibility for overall warehouse efficiency, expense control, and all objectives, including training, motivation of personnel, and personnel development programs. Full P&L accountability. Multi-attribute distribution – Dangerous Goods and Non-Dangerous Goods. This person will also support the sales team and customer service in IE, operational issues, initiations, and actions.
Key Responsibilities:Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operation including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
Lead and coordinate warehouse staff, assigning tasks and scheduling holidays shifts.
Full budget accountability – Build and lead purposefully the distribution centre’s budget.
Develop and deploy service offering which consistently meet or exceed customer requirements and expectation.
Look continuously for areas of improvement that increase efficiency and overall company profitability.
Work purposefully to further improve warehouse organization, layout and efficiency.
Design data-driven metrics and exception management processes. Implement SOP’s to enhance operations performance by improving productivity, quality, and service.
Further develop an interpersonal structure focused on building a cohesive team built around the values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Responsible for the training, development of team and performance improvement plans.
Contribute to the team focus and give clear support of safety and environmental program.
Deliver and plan to ensure all required training is current as per quality program.
Collaborate within a European network to maintain consistent processes and procedures while showcasing standard methodologies.
Ensure that the operation is operating within corporate, EU, and local regulatory guidelines, safety legislation, ISO work instructions, and environmental standards.
Maintenance of the quality system. Lead/act as a representative of senior management in customer audits or external.
Identify site equipment requirements, source supply, negotiate price. Lead capital assets and associated repair and maintenance.
Responsible for building maintenance at all different subjects (including security system and fire system). Interlocutor with contractors.
Contact/interlocutor with official bodies such as the city council or regional government.
Other duties as assigned.
Travel is not significant.
Experience:Must possess meaningful hands-on managerial experience in physical distribution and/or transportation with exposure to sophisticated team management issues.Minimum Qualifications:A Degree or equivalent experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain / Logistics, Business Administration, engineering or a related area.Good level in all Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio).Good user level and detailed knowledge of WMS and WMS configuration.Strong history with validated process re-engineering and operational improvement. PPI / Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing training desired.Essential Requirements:Willing to do any type of task: from warehousing ground floor jobs to high management tasks!Must have experience in a highly structured/procedural environment.Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.Able to efficiently connect with varying levels, internal and external to the company.Ability to interact in a team environment with a customer-focused approach and skills for continuous improvement serving all customers.Must possess strong analytical problem-solving skills and to communicate complex ideas in a simple way. Ability to apply principles of logic to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.Demonstrate a strong history of efficiently leading change management initiatives.Results oriented, metrics focused leader with a root cause, permanent fix approach, continuous improvement approach.Projects management- confirmed history of successful projects meeting financial and time constraints.Optional aptitudes, skills and knowledge:Confirmed understanding and experience in the application of HR policies & procedures.Driver truck license (lift truck, reach truck).Safety and environment legislation.
