**The Opportunity**
We currently have an opportunity available for a **Manager, Core & Diagnostic Education** to join our **Cardiac Rhythm Management** division in **Austin, TX** . This is a fully On-Site.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
**The Purpose**
The Manager, Core & Diagnostics Education, CRM will provide leadership and vision on the development, planning, implementation, and tracking of a comprehensive and world-class training curriculum for CRM’s traditional core and diagnostic products/therapies. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the technical and clinical education Abbott Field teams and of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in pursuit of the business unit’s overall strategy and goals.
This position operates on a global scale, necessitating an understanding of procedural nuances worldwide to proactively lead a team to develop streamlined training programs and content that promote a unified curriculum and ensure a consistent training experience for all participants. The role involves aligning Abbott CRM regions on a cohesive global curriculum that minimizes modifications to facilitate uniform and structured training.
Utilizing a fervent dedication to education and innovation, the candidate will employ the ADDIE framework to identify educational needs and craft programs for new and existing products/therapies within the core and diagnostic area. The candidate will also use leadership skills, project management skills, agility, and creativity, to partner with R&D, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Clinical and other senior members of the CRM organization to lead the educational process across this portion of the Abbott CRM portfolio.
**THE STRATEGY YOU WILL LEAD**
+ Lead the vision, development, and deployment of a comprehensive and integrated, Global Training Curriculum for HCPs and Abbott Field teams that can be deployed in-person or virtually.
+ Engage with Global Education peers to identify and integrate cutting edge training technologies to enable world-class training experiences.
+ Partner with R&D, Up/Downstream Marketing, and Global Education leaders to capture training needs for upcoming project launches early in the development phase.
+ Develop training for new product launches.
+ Ensure that new product launch training is integrated into existing training curriculum, and that content remains current at all times.
+ Drive consistent use of ADDIE for all educational development and integrate with established marketing processes.
**THE TEAM YOU WILL LEAD**
+ Manage a team of Trainers to develop training content and programs via the ADDIE process to train new hires, existing field team members, and HCPs.
+ Build and develop a team of highly skilled individuals to design and execute high quality, effective and engaging adult learning.
+ Motivate, influence, and lead a team to achieve common goals and objectives that consistently meet compliance and quality standards.
+ Lead a team that partners with Global Education peers via ADDIE to gain feedback on the development of training content and drive a cycle of continuous improvement.
+ Anticipate, identify, and resolve high-level problems associated with completing projects and executing programs.
+ Foster and drive a culture of best practices that leverages the latest technologies and tools and respects adult learning techniques and instructional design principles.
**THE BUSINESS YOU WILL MANAGE**
+ Develop and maintain cross-functional partnerships within R&D, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory to create highly effective training that is compliant and achieves business objectives and results.
+ Oversee consistent educational effectiveness and positive trainee experiences by reviewing measures and driving a continuous improvement mindset based on data.
+ Lead U.S. field training activities and oversee tracking U.S. field trainee training proficiency; work with U.S. Sales leadership in addressing learning gaps.
+ Collaborate with Global Education team peers and help the U.S. ProfEd team enable the efficient transfer of knowledge to U.S. HCPs.
+ Manage an annual expense/cost center budget.
+ Align with peers in other divisions to position Abbott CRM at the forefront of training in the Medical Device industry.
+ Comply with global regulations and requirements, company policy, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
+ Become an expert within the designated therapy on trainee needs and keep current on developments in the field, specifically on product/therapy knowledge, market, and industry trends.
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:**
Required
+ BA/BS degree and 5+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of training and education programs OR Master's degree and 3+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of training and education programs.
+ Management experience: team oriented with experience.
Preferred
+ Experience leading the creation of education programs leveraging the ADDIE model.
+ Experience presenting and leading classroom-based training for large groups of internal and customer trainees.
+ Experience leading education programs and a demonstrated ability to simplify and articulate complex topics effectively.
+ Understanding of CRM device therapy and Abbott’s CRM product portfolio.
+ Experience in cardiac pacing; field experience.
+ Functional understanding of R&D, Program Management and Marketing functions.
+ Affinity for educating others.
+ Experience creating multi-media, experiential rich content in blended learning/virtual environment.
+ Ability to apply fundamental concepts to conduct needs assessment and design training programs to meet needs.
+ Excellent computer and software skills in graphics, word processing, authoring programs, etc. to develop presentation/training materials.
+ Ability to work in highly matrixed organization and geographically diverse business environments.
+ Ability to work within a larger team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
+ Strong communication, project management skills to accurately represent project status and deliverables to key stakeholders and management.
+ Ability to resolve issues and meet project deadlines.
**Travel Requirements:**
Ability to travel approximately 20-30% (domestically and globally).
Please note that the salary range listed is our full grade range. We usually hire based on the mid-point.

The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
