The Maintenance Technician - Apprenticeship position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production systems and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Empire’s business goals and objectives, while working under the direction of a skilled maintenance technician.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facilities equipment
+ Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service
+ Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
+ Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic to troubleshoot and repair production machines
+ Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawing and work directly with outside vendors to maintain and repair production equipment
+ Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as required
+ Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilitates
+ Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
+ Comply with all company, local, city, state and federal regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
+ Other duties and projects as determined by production and business needs
+ Must attend class one day a week at WCTC in Pewaukee, and provide own transportation
**Education, Skills, and Experience:**
+ High School Diploma / GED required and a willing to enroll in state sponsored apprenticeship through Milwaukee Tool / Empire Level. All necessary schooling and work hours must be completed per apprenticeship schedule
+ Previous experience with Injection Molding and/or Blown Film Extrusion a plus
+ Fork and lift truck certification, overhead crane, understanding of PLC programming preferred
+ Established ability to identify and communicate issues and offer proposed solutions
+ Excellent attention to detail is required
