As a Lead Proposals/Tendering Application Engineer, you’ll be a key player in shaping technical solutions that power ships, energise homes, and stabilise grids across the globe. Working within a cross-functional team, you’ll help turn customer needs into winning projects for some of the world’s most advanced electrical rotating machinery. In this role you will focus on:
Supporting the tendering process from enquiry receipt through to successful handover to the project team.Analysing customer requirements and scoping technical solutions for custom projects, estimating or requesting costing and cost optimisation.Developing technical proposals together with risk assessments in collaboration with the commercial team.Entering information into the appropriate ITO (Inquiry To Order) tools to ensure all data is up to date and accurate.Collaborating with internal teams e.g., design engineers to identify feasible and optimal solutions.Participating in customer meetings, presentations, and negotiations.Reviewing and commenting on customer requirements and ensuring alignment with proposals.Leading order handover meetings to the project teams.Essential qualifications:
A relevant qualification, apprenticeship, or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.Understanding the principles of large electrical rotating machines, i.e. MV/HV motors and generators.Experience in writing quotations, technical proposals / application engineering tendering.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specification sheets.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Nice-to-have experience:
Familiarity with international standards (IEC60034/NEMA MG:1).Experience with application engineering tools (e.g. Salesforce, SAP, PLM Teamcenter).This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance) as part of the hiring process.
