Your future team

Our team, Project & Product Strategy Office (PPSO), is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America, provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and support of the products in the aftermarket. PPSO are responsible for technology strategies and strategic product planning for the Volvo Group as well as for project management of product change introductions (Intro Blocks).

Within the Product Project Strategy Office (PPSO) located in Greensboro NC, you will have the opportunity to work in projects developing the future vehicles and services in the Conventional Range.

What you will do

As a Lead Project Manager, you lead programs with high complexity and with a significant business impact. You will work in close cooperation with a variety of stakeholders and solution providers e.g.  GTT Vehicle Engineering, Powertrain Engineering, e-Mob, Stategic Product Planning, PPSO, Aftermarket Technologies, Complete Vehicle, Group Trucks Purchasing, Group Trucks Operations and Mack and Volvo Trucks to secure a complete delivery.

You will be responsible for the delivery of projects and work with a broad cross functional perspective from high level prerequisites and concept development in the early phases – to the later project phases managing planning, development and delivery of the aligned conventional range product portfolio.

 

You will be responsible to:

Lead the project management team with a complete business focus and mindset & report to Steering Committee and Vehicle and Introblock Council. Manage projects with high complexity for major delivery with medium to high impact on the business. Manage the project QDCF according to set targets. Operate effectively, even when things are not certain or clear. You know how to identify & mitigate risks early. Take an active role in developing future ways of working for product evolutions and Introblock programs with a mindset of cost efficiency, delivery precision, and product quality. You work on continuous improvements.   Who are you?

You are a team player interacting through a broad network, having the skills to transfer high level prerequisites into project requirements and deliverables - as well as being comfortable to communicate and report project QDCF in steering committees/reference group and management teams on executive level. You can prioritize and focus the project on the main areas contributing to delivering an improved business result.

Requirements:

Minimum 12 years of project management and engineering experience. Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (Masters preferred). Experience in project management :
o    interfacing with multiple functional areas across different organizations with the ability to manage complex integration (New technology/New concept/ Platform). Skilled in DVP methodologies and applying appropriately to deliver. PMP Certification is a plus. Clear communication, verbally and in writing. Fluent in English, verbally and in writing.
