Job Description

Job Title: Lead Manufacturing Technician

Working hours: Monday to Friday - 8am to 4.30pm

Position Summary:

This role is based at our Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham, UK. As a Lead Technician within Operations, you will join a passionate Manufacturing team dedicated to ensuring the performance of world leading diagnostic products drive global progress. Your contributions will be instrumental in upholding our reputation for impeccable performance and groundbreaking ideas.

Responsibilities:

A day in the Life:

Ensures the weekly production schedule is on track, raise, resolve and communicate issues

Participate in the weekly planning process, setting realistic deadlines for task completion

Complete process sign off and release of products into stock.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in an area of the business

Keys to Success:

Use improvement skills and tools to drive changes to mitigate sources of errors, improve processes and prevent reoccurrence of issues

Take a lead role in deviation and non-conformance investigation, driving timely resolution.

Act as a mentor, trainer and role model for others in the team and across the wider department

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Education

Science Degree in Biology or Chemistry would be preferable but High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent will be also considered with relevant experience in the field of Chromatography or equivalent

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field

Essential: Previous experience in a laboratory environment with subject matter expert understanding of manufacturing processes

Essential: Experience in workload management and planning

Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment or other highly regulated environment

Preferred: Experience working in a clean room environment

Preferred: Experience in Chromatography or related activites

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proven documentation/communication/digital literacy

Able to review, write and train in operating procedures (SOPs)

Continuous Improvement skills and experience

Foundation in general scientific practice, principles, and concepts of your discipline as well as excellent analytical skills

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and understand chemical hygiene.

Able to handle solutions and chemicals.

Essentials functions may require lifting objects up to 20 Kilograms.

Willing to work overtime in the short-term notice, including weekends to support department as needed.
