Key Responsibilities:
Handling mechanical packages including HVAC System, Fire Protection System, Fire Detection System, Building Management, CCTV etc. System for Substation, HVDC & Facts.
Verifying & analyzing the technical specification received from Consultant/Client and work with them to finalize the system/equipment.
Preparation of Purchase Specification/Tender specification along with detailed Bill of Quantity.
Technical Evaluation of Supplier/Vendor offers for HVAC System, Fire Protection & Detection System, Building Automation System, various surveillance system etc.
Creating various technical documents for customer/consultant approval like; Design Basis Report, Calculation Note, I/O Summary, P&I Diagram, Process Flow Diagram, Architecture Diagram, Technical Data Sheet etc.
Designing of HVAC Ducting, Piping, Water Flow Diagram, Air Flow Diagram and its implementation on layout drawing.
Perform Heat load calculation, ventilation calculation for GIS hall and CRB building Develop HVAC layout for as per relevant standards & project technical specification
Review and validate the routing and layout drawings prepared by draftsmen.
Coordinate with internal departments (Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation) for design inputs and interface requirements.
Ensure adherence to project schedules and timely delivery of design packages.
Monitor and report quantity deviations or escalations with respect to approved construction estimates (ACE); communicate with management for necessary actions.
Check and validate HVAC detailing in drawings.
Review Pre-Bid Queries, Design Basis Reports (DBR), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Scope of Work for both proposal and project stages.
Recommend design optimization solutions during the pre-bid stage to reduce the overall all costs.
Ensure all designs conform to ISO Quality Standards and contractual technical specifications.
Interact with clients for drawing approvals, technical discussions, and design clarifications.
Liaise with project sites to address design-related queries and support implementation.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) & procurement team to provide clarifications for procurement and vendor-related activities.
Assist in the selection of mechanical accessories and components based on approved layouts and system requirements.
Participate in design review and design freeze meeting and ensure the corrective actions define by the design review.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).(Minimum 10 + Years of experience)
Proven experience in MEP design, specifically in firefighting and HVAC systems for substations or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in relevant software tools (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Duct Sizer, Pipe Flow Expert, etc.).
Strong understanding of codes and standards related to fire safety and HVAC (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC).
Excellent coordination, communication, and client-handling skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
