Meaningful Work From Day One
The LATAM Payroll Manager will manage the processing, reporting, and analysis of timely and accurate payrolls for the Mexico weekly, Semi, and Monthly Expat payroll. This position will also be accountable for the oversight and, in some cases, processing payrolls for other countries in the LATAM region in addition to enforcing policy and procedures within the LATAM region, ensuring they are aligned with those in the payrolls across the globe. This position will lead the day-to-day execution of the Mexico payroll activities, including accurate delivery of payroll, payroll taxes, and all other supporting activities. The position will be in charge of Vendor Management of the LATAM Payroll and driving continuous improvement. There will be additional responsibilities pertaining to Payroll Accounting, reconciliations, and collaboration with stakeholders.

- The position will manage a team of 6 direct reports and will participate on global projects.
- This role will also work with the Regional Payroll Process Managers to drive changes, document processes, and implement cross-training with the team to ensure the appropriate coverage is in place.
- This role will partner with the Global Process Owner Payroll to ensure the LATAM payroll team has career paths and support for their continuous development.
- Currently this role will be responsible for the Payrolls in Mexico, Chile, Dominican Republic, Chile, Brazil and Panama, however this list could grow depending on the business needs in the LATAM Region.

What You Can Expect

Supervise and lead the Mexico Payroll team for operations and activities to execute payroll processes, which include ensuring timely and accurate payroll escalating issues to the GPM and Vendor if necessary. 

Supervise the Brazil and Panama Payroll Analyst to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, reporting, GL, and collaboration with HR/Finance to ensure payroll is processed within the countries' guidelines.  

Monitor to ensure KPI’s are met and escalate where necessary.

Develop, mentor, and supervise the day-to-day work of LATAM payroll staff (5-7 employees) for Latin America's payroll.

Provides direction for tasks, coordinating priorities and resources, and guiding performance and development opportunities

Drive change by reviewing current procedures, recommending and implementing process improvements, and establishing best practices. 

Partner with the Human Resources departments in Supply Chain and Commercial Organization, Finance, Taxes, and other key stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate payroll delivery.

Continuously monitor changes in LATAM payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.  

Vendor Relationship with payroll and associated vendors in the LATAM region.  

Oversee the process to ensure timely and accurate tax payments to government entities on behalf of employees to maintain compliance with all regulatory government agencies. 

Ensure all payrollsfor the LATAM region are completed on time with a high level of accuracy.  

Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues as needed.

Understand and gain knowledge of Interface with 3rd parties as needed for payroll operation.

Oversight of Savings Fund and Bank Saving process. 

Drive change and implement best practices for your area by reviewing current procedures, recommend and implement process improvements and establish best practices.  

Prepare and review payroll journal entries, perform GL mapping, perform payroll related account analysis, record monthly accrual entries and reconcile payroll and benefit-related general ledger accounts on a timely basis

Ensure statutory compliance in accordance with all LATAM requirements and compliance with all internal policies and controls as well as compliance with  Social Security, Payroll Tax, Income Tax, and any other applicable legal requirements.

Support internal and external audits, preparing relevant reports and analysis for management as required. 

Ad hoc projects as required 

What You Bring to the Table

Education: College/University (Bachelor's or Equivalent); Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience.

2-4 years of payroll team management experience and “hands-on” working with enterprise payroll systems (Workday, Safeguard, etc.).

Bilingual - English/Spanish

Experience with international payroll and/or accounting. 

Must have strong leadership characteristics and the ability to demonstrate the ability to develop employees to achieve higher levels of contribution and success.

Solid understanding of LATAM payroll taxes and taxable wages.

Ability and desire to understand and positively interact with individuals of numerous cultures and backgrounds.

Proven oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly discuss payroll-related issues with employees throughout the organization, at all levels of the organization, and externally with third-party providers and governmental agencies.

Detail-oriented and good strategic thinking ability.

Ability to work with remote teams and maintain constant communication.

The ability to provide candid feedback while, at all times, acting in a professional manner and with the company’s shared values.

Ability to multitask and have a project management background. 

Ability to effectively handle confidential information and material.
