Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a Key Account Manager for the District Energy segment, with the aim of strengthening our commercial footprint in the Benelux region.
You will play a strategic role in developing partnerships and driving market growth across the Netherlands, and on project base in Belgium, and Luxembourg. With a strong focus on district heating, you will collaborate with key stakeholders (public agencies, engineering firms, and distribution partners) to promote our sustainable energy solutions and expand Danfoss’ presence in the region.

Job Responsibilities Drive business development in line with Danfoss Climate Solutions’ strategy, ensuring growth and sustainable profitability in the District Energy market. Define and implement tailored sales plans for key accounts, aligned with overall business objectives. Build and nurture a strong network of decision-makers across public authorities, engineering firms, and distributors. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, developing and maintaining strategic account development plans. Identify and lead business opportunities, from early scouting to project execution, with a value-selling mindset. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, particularly within Sales and Marketing teams already engaged with the account—to ensure smooth execution and a high level of customer satisfaction. Present business cases and support the approval process for complex projects and initiatives. Generate accurate forecasts and contribute to business reporting with transparency and reliability. Continuously monitor the market and competition, sharing insights with Marketing and Business Excellence teams. Background & Skills Educational Background in Business Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in a medium-to-large company, ideally within the energy or industrial sector, with a focus on district energy or heating solutions. Proven track record in managing and building relationships with key stakeholders, including public authorities, engineering firms, and distributors. Ability to drive market share growth in a competitive landscape, using strategic thinking and value-based selling. Strong aptitude for building and maintaining networks, both locally and internationally, ensuring collaboration across functions. Experience working in a global and multicultural environment, understanding the nuances of different business cultures. Self-driven with the ability to take initiative, oversee projects, and coordinate with multiple internal teams to achieve customer satisfaction. Native Dutch speaking and writing, Fluent in English, (both written and spoken). Additional language skills like France are a plus.
