As a Junior Formulator you will organize and accomplish the development and adaptation of new products, you will support Production, Process validation and Quality Control in technical aspects, you will give information on the formulas to Planning and Costs, all according to PPG's procedures. Create according to specifications and at low-cost, adapt domestic raw materials, solve problems during manufacturing, solve customer's online functionality problems, recover raw material and finished product out of specification.
You will report to America's Technical Director, Refinish.
Key Responsibilities
Produce liquid paint formulas for repainting. Provide technical support to the production area, the Quality Assurance area and Technical Service, to comply with the commitments established with the client.Improve formulas by processes and by our client's online functionality, to meet their requirements. Provide the information of the manufactured goals, to meet the customer's commitments.Solve Production and Quality Assurance problems, to improve processes and deliveries to the customer. Evaluate new raw materials to have alternatives with contractors and new suppliers at lower costs while maintaining quality.Update and specify test methods to meet customer requirements.Know and handle pigments and intermediates to develop color matching skills for customers on time and with the required quality.Preparation and shipment of products and samples for analysis to Laboratories in Mexico and the USA. Apply manual paint and automatic equipment such as reciprocators, hoods.Qualifications
Chemical Engineer.+3 years of work experience in the field of Chemistry.Specialty in Paint.1+ years of experience in application methods and equipment. Formulation, raw materials, procedures, paint manufacturing.
