The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Integrated Work Package (IWP) Lead to lead and grow a high-performing delivery team within the Major Service Provider (MSP) framework. This is a senior leadership role that offers the opportunity to drive strategic outcomes, cultivate trusted customer relationships, and champion KBR’s culture and values in a Defence environment.

Reporting to the Acount Director and operating with a high degree of autonomy, the IWP Lead is accountable for the planning, performance, and delivery of complex projects and programs. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to meet and exceed client expectations while aligning delivery with KBR’s strategic objectives. The role demands strong leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and a focus on continuous improvement and workforce development.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven leader with a strong background in Defence to contribute to national capability, grow business opportunities, and influence the future success of the IWP and broader MSP delivery model.

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to: 

Leading the planning, organisation, coordination, and management of the IWP in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and governance processes.

Managing the overall performance of the IWP to ensure successful delivery outcomes that enhance the reputation of both KBR and the KEY team.

Demonstrating proactive HSE leadership by identifying and managing safety and business risks, and developing and implementing mitigation strategies in close collaboration with the HSE function.

Establishing and maintaining strong, effective communication with customers, KBR, and key stakeholders to build trusted relationships and ensure alignment.

Managing the IWP budget, overseeing cost controls, monthly financial processes, and ensuring compliance with both MSP and KBR financial governance requirements.

Accurately forecasting and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and reduce costs within the MSP delivery model.

Drafting and reviewing IWP reports for both internal (KBR) and external (customer) stakeholders.

Collaborating with Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) and KBR stakeholders on the development of Work Task Orders (WTOs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), and other IWP-specific documentation.

Partnering with the People & Culture team to develop internal talent, support culture initiatives, and enhance employee engagement and retention.

Working with Talent Acquisition to lead recruitment and workforce planning activities including job requisitions, interviews, approvals, offers, and onboarding processes.

Supporting both KBR and CoA in workforce planning initiatives and resource optimisation.

Driving continuous improvement initiatives and making forward-thinking decisions that enhance operational efficiency and strategic outcomes.

Proactively identifying and managing issues and risks, ensuring effective resolution and mitigation strategies are in place.

Collaborating with MSP operations and Strategy & Business Development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic relationship building.

Contributing to the development of bids and proposals as required.

Performing additional duties as reasonably directed by management to support team and organisational success.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Contract/Project Management or a related field, and/or equivalent professional or industry experience

Minimum of 7 years’ relevant professional experience

Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement and client relationship management

Proven ability to successfully manage relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, within a Defence or Defence Industry environment

Results-oriented with a background in project management or professional consulting

Minimum AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance with the ability to obtain NV1 clearance or higher

Desirable:

Experience leading a diverse professional services workforce at a senior level

Demonstrated experience in cost account management

Defence Industry experience supporting Defence operations Project Management, contract management or professional consulting experience within the Defence and Government market
