Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.The work model for the role is: on-site #LI-On-SiteThis role is contributing to the Materials team at the ABB corporate research center in Switzerland. In the frame of this internship you will be able to put theory into practice by contributing to one of our projects on future energy technologies.You will be mainly responsible for:• Contributing to current research projects focusing on innovative metal, ceramic- and polymer-based materials and manufacturing processes• Analyzing the produced materials or engineering prototypes with various characterization techniques to obtain a good understanding of the relationship between process parameters, microstructure, and material characteristics• Evaluating and documenting findings and present test results to the teamOur team dynamicsYou will join a talented and caring team where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

You currently pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science or EngineeringYou are absorbed in materials characterization tools and the electrical components market and possess first experience in additive manufacturingYou are highly adept in CAD modelling and programming languages like pythonYou are captivated by data analysis and presentationsYou are at ease communicating in English, German is an assetNon-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
