Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our small and dynamic team at the pilot plant. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the scale-up of innovative technologies within a leading global company. You will be directly involved in projects focused on enhancing our production processes through improved inline viscosity measurement and the optimization of inline mixing of thickening agents.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and execution of experiments related to inline viscosity measurement techniques.Investigate and evaluate different types of inline viscometers for suitability in our processes.Contribute to the development and optimization of inline mixing strategies for thickening agents.Conduct trials on pilot-scale equipment to assess the performance of different measurement and mixing setups.Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.Document experimental procedures, results, and findings in clear and concise reports.Collaborate closely with the pilot plant-, R&D-, and operations teams.Contribute to process improvement initiatives based on experimental outcomes.Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures within the pilot plant environment.The preferred start date is June 1st, 2025 and the ideal candidate is available for 5 days a week and for a minimum 6 months. The location of the position is our Pilot Plant in Leiden.
QualificationsWhat kind of candidate are we looking for?
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.Strong interest in process technology, fluid mechanics, and measurement techniques.Good understanding of viscosity and mixing principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).Hands-on mentality and a willingness to learn.Fluency in English is required.Additional InformationOur offer
