The Logistic Manager in Thales is member of Industry team and acts as the logistic subject matter expert within the industrial department, she/he accounts for visibility and responsibility over inbound, outbound
and warehouse management for all materials associated to the international market footprint of our Business Unit.
The role leads our logistic process and subsidies to multiple cross-functional delivery projects across our international organization. Within this role it is also accounted the responsibility for the shipping, transportation and warehouse management for our organization in Italy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all logistic flows (inbound/outbound), supervising external logistics providers, handling project-related logistics, and leading a team of Logistic Specialist.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistic Manager leads all logistic activities and warehouse management managing local team as well as contracted resources for warehouse management (3PL). The role includes the responsibility for the correct execution of the following tasks: definition, management and follow-up of logistic and transportation plans to serve delivery projects of the Business Unit; the elaboration and monitoring of KPIs on logistic flow and warehouse keeping for the local driven business; the planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries, selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates, researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers; supervising logistics, warehouse (3PL) and transportation.
Working with other departments to lease logistics, with company procedures and operations, she/he evaluates budgets and expenditures for the function, updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements, controlling compliance with laws, import and export regulation, and customs procedures. Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle, she/he resolves any arising problems or complaints and contribute in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, providing logistic support to bid phase anticipating best solutions and associated costs for the future business.
She/He coordinates project deliveries with different stakeholder (PM, Sales, Supply Chain), creates all delivery and export documents respecting the relevant export and customs regulations and customer contractual constraint (Letter of Credit,....), monitors the status f the orders and supports annual
inventory count.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, engineering field is an advantage. Experience (5 years) in the field of Logistic is mandatory, preferably in a complex or regulated industry (aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing).
Solid knowledge of import/export processes, including military material regulations and customs compliance and experience in managing external logistics partners and service providers.
Ability to liaise within international organization with peers; ability to summarize and present business scenarios to management; fluency in English written and spoken and IT savvy are also mandatory for the role.
Additional languages (French, Portuguese or German) is a plus.
Strong leadership, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills are requested.
