Industrial Engineer

As the Industrial Engineer you will improve manufacturing processes in a low volume, high mix factory setting. You will analyze production workflows, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring that the manufacturing operations meet quality standards while following safety regulations. Reporting directly to the Operational Excellence Leader you will work onsite at our Aerospace products facility in Huntsville, AL. You will have, a understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to work with teams.

Key Responsibilities

Be engaged in Safety; participate in site Safety programs and ensure operational discipline and compliance with both company and regulatory safety requirements.

Create detailed flowcharts or diagrams to visualize the current product flow through multiple stages of production and analyze the flow to identify bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies that may hinder production.

Develop strategies to refine processes and improve the workflow, ensuring that materials and products move smoothly from one stage to the next.

Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure delivery of materials and components needed for production. Design and implement material handling systems to facilitate movement of products and materials throughout the facility.

Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies in production processes.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times by using Lean Manufacturing principles (such as yamazumi charts) and Six Sigma methodologies.

Analyze production capacity and develop strategies to improve resource allocation, including both personnel & equipment to ensure that manufacturing capabilities align with customer demand.

Design and improve workstations to improve ergonomics and efficiency

Work with the site quality team to develop and implement quality control measures into standard work.

Responsible for site staffing plan. Identify areas for improvement to increase Year-over-year productivity

Collaborate with teams, including operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain, to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in low volume, high mix production.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.

Proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or similar).

Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
