Job Description

Software & Control department develops Programmable Logic Controllers, Modules, Human Machine Interfaces, and Software solutions.

You will join to Hardware Team in Software & Control department which is responsible for Rockwell Automation products such as Control Logix and PanelView devices. We are working in teams and cooperate, on daily basis, with engineers across multiple disciplines (e.g., mechanical, ASIC/FPGA development, embedded software), project managers, product marketing, manufacturing and quality organizations.

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Technician. You will have a great chance to participate in development process for almost whole product lifecycle from schematics modification through tests and validation, till cooperation with manufacturing team. This would be big opportunity to increase Your technical skills during work in wide range of topics associated with Hardware development.

You will report to the Hardware Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland. You will work with the team stationary with the possibility of occasional remote work.

Your Responsibilities:Your activities will include prototype board analysis/troubleshooting, board rework/modification, procurement of lab equipment and prototype materials, construction and configuration of test beds based on test requirements, and product qualification testing.You may also oversee the acquiring electronic components for prototypes, maintaining Bills of Material, and submitting requests for schematic symbols and part geometries.You will work on a team comprised of experienced technicians and engineers across multiple disciplines to help steward a critical product line through its customer lifecycle.The environment fosters an approach to work with teams across the globe. It is dynamic and requires a motivated person with experience with product development.

The Essentials - You Will Have:Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with electronics test, debug, and rework.Must have an ability to read electrical schematics.Must have skills in troubleshooting electronic hardware using hardware test equipment, such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.Must have the ability to perform board level rework and modifications for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) designs (e.g. soldering, component replacement, trace cuts & adds).Must have experience building, wiring, and configuring hardware test systems.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Written and verbal English communication.Knowledge of industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers.Experience performing product certification testing, such as testing to meet CE and IEC 61010.Experience with board bring-up and flash update of on-board devices and components.Capability to use Rockwell Software programming tools to develop test programs.Experience with PCB schematics or PCB layout viewers.Experience writing programs (ladder) for use in product initialization, debug, and test.Experience setting up virtual machines for test environments.Experience with SAP business system to create, release, and control engineering documentation and Bill of Materials.
