About the Role:
RELX is seeking a Group Accountant to join our central Group Finance Team who are primarily located in London on The Strand. You will be responsible for the delivery of high standards of various financial reporting information, mainly for external reporting purposes, but also to support RELX’s performance management and decision support.

About the Team:
Reporting primarily to the Consolidation Manager, this well-rounded role will involve being the primary contact for technical accounting issues across the group, such as the implementation of new accounting standards, and being a key person in the quarterly reporting consolidation process. The work will involve assisting various senior stakeholders, including the Head of Reporting and Group Financial Controller, exposure to the Group CFO together with working with business area finance teams across the group.
Location:
London, The Strand.
On average, 3 days a week will be expected in the office, with this increasing if required during busier reporting periods.
Responsibilities:
Taking a key role in the preparation of the quarterly consolidation and analysis of quarterly resultsPlaying a key role in the administration and change management of RELX HFM consolidation applications (Oracle) and FCCSAssisting with technical accounting queries, implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirementsAssisting with preparation and review of information to support annual and interim external reporting with UK, US and Dutch listing requirementsAssisting with preparation & review of annual UK, US & Dutch head office statutory financial statements in line with FRS 101, LLP and Dutch reporting requirements, including the Venture Capital PartnershipsLiaising with the auditors to support completion of the interim, year-end group and statutory reportingQualifications and Experience:
Be a fully qualified accountant: ACA/ICAS or equivalent, with some post-qualified experience, preferably with the Big Four accounting firmsHave excellent Excel skills essential (vlookups/xlookups, pivot tables etc.)Be highly organised, have the ability to multi-task and re-prioritise workloadHave experience of managing senior stakeholdersDisplay good technical knowledge of IFRSHave experience in working with UK / US listed complex multi-national companies preferred but not essentialShow excellent financial technical and analytical skillsHave the ability to critically examine, identify patterns and question information from a variety of sources in order to look for continuous improvements.Be willing to learn and understand, especially in relation to finance systemsSOX experience preferred, but not essentialOracle HFM/FCCS consolidation experience, preferred but not essentialSmartview experience preferred but not essentialWork in a way that works for you
