Financial Controller (Investments, GL Control and Reporting)

Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:  

We are looking for an Financial Controller (Investments, GL Control and Reporting) to join our team in Eastleigh. The role will encompass many aspects of financial management, including regulatory and financial reporting, compliance and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The role is a key liaison point between the group Shared Service Centre based in Milan (HQ) and the external Business Process Outsource team.

You will be responsible for:

Preparation of the statutory accounts for Prysmian UK legal entities (circa 4 operational companies and 7 dormant companies).

Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting – to ensure the accurate and timely group reporting to strict deadlines.

Management of external financial audits.

Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS - along with Corporate governance requirements (Italian S262).

Management of Balance sheet reconciliation, fixed asset ledger and investments process.

Control and reporting of owned and leased assets ensuring compliance with Group rules.

Key business partner for the investments process with activities including support and guidance for business cases, project tracking through to  asset creations.

Support in the preparation of the annual investments budget and subsequent monitoring & reporting.

Developing business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls whilst achieving process simplification.

Providing technical accounting advice and support

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

Preferably hold previous experience within a manufacturing environment, however not essential.

Degree educated and professionally qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in a similar senior role. 

Strong working knowledge of systems will be essential and ideally with SAP (FI & CO) experience.

Possess excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Proven abilities to lead, motivate and direct a professional team will be essential.

Ability to deal with the complexity of an international environment is a must; along with an accurate and process driven mind set with the ability to meet strict deadlines.  Experience of change management will be beneficial.
