Financial Accountant – Europe & The Americas (12 month FTC)

Location – Milton Keynes, UK (Hybrid role)

What you’ll do 

Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for European and American entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/US GAAP/local GAAP requirements. Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments. Provide accurate and timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances and foreign currency transactions. Support statutory reporting, external audits, and tax filings, liaising with auditors and tax advisors as needed. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, GST, corporate tax, and transfer pricing requirements. Maintain and improve internal controls, financial policies, and processes to support compliance and efficiency. Identify and support opportunities for system improvements and automation initiatives within finance to enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

What you’ll need 

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 3-5+ years of experience in a financial accounting role. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and local statutory reporting requirements. Experience working in an international, multi-entity environment, preferably within Europe & The Americas. Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Excel skills. Previous experience working with external auditors and tax authorities. Proven experience of month end close processes including account reconciliations and posting of journals, preparation of working papers to support balances Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within tight deadlines and to self-manage your workload in a hybrid home/office environment and culture. Good understanding of accrual accounting and general accounting principles
