As a Field Service Engineer you are responsible for the proper operation of the systems according to their specifications and for the customer satisfaction.

A day in the life:​

Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, repair and installation of our sophisticated Electron Microscopes and Surface Analysis (XPS) systemsProvide on-site training for customers related to basic operation and routine maintenance of the systemKeep track and maintain local spare part's inventoryDispatch third-party service providers for on-site work and follow up to ensure problems were resolved to the customer’s satisfactionActively monitor the status of customer contracts. Track and schedule on-site PM visit(s).Ensure that all documentation related to service support activity is completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis. This includes Field Service Reports, Service Work Orders and Quotes.

Keys to success:

Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics) is required.Graduates must have knowledge of Electron Microscope.A full SEM / Dual Beam is equivalent to the BS degree.2+ years of service experience in a related scientific, technical and / or customer-facing role is expected.Excellent interpersonal skills for a positive and effective communication with customers, colleagues and superiorsStrong proficiency in instrument systems technology to include electronics, (precise) mechanics, physics, and software technologyExperience in troubleshooting and repairing of ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is an advantageLiterate in Windows software environmentsYou have good abstraction skills and are characterized by perseverance and flexibilityThere is a will to succeed, and you can learn from your mistakesyou are Fluent in English and preferably also GermanAbility and desire to travel routinely, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or to support other field service personnelAbility to travel internationally up to 30% depending on place of residenceDriving license B required
