Family Office Principal
Citi GFO is a global Strategic Client Segments (part of Integrated Client Engagement) serving family offices, private investment companies, and private holding companies, including family owned enterprises and foundations. We are a multi-disciplinary team with deep experience in capital markets, investment banking, markets and the design and management of family offices. We combine the resource of our Banking (IB, CB and CCB), Global Markets and Private Bank to provide our clients the highest level of service, sophistication and tailored strategies. With a focus on EMEA (note : a sub set of regions might be selected, e.g. if Dubai based the candidate will naturally focus on MEA/EM), the candidate is expected to be actively engaged in front line client activities, from prospecting to deepening the relationship, from identifying the need of a solution to showcasing our successes on industry panels. The candidate is expected to deliver high impact solutions. Furthermore, as an internal champion of complex transactions, this role will require working experience / knowledge of Banking, Markets and CPB departments, to connect-the-dots effectively, with a strategic mindset, to optimally get trades executed. **Key responsibilities:** • Client engagement, leading discussions with family members and/or family office staff regarding their needs, problems and requirements, and coordinating the delivery of a range of solutions with product, operational and client service teams across the region. • Have a broad understanding of Citi-wide products, services and capabilities. Apply an in-depth level of knowledge in key investment and financing products across Citi Institutional platform (Banking, Markets, etc). • Identify business opportunities and address the unique needs of specific client segments. Keep abreast of financial industry developments and current global market conditions. • Resolve client inquiries and issues on a timely basis and as accurately as possible through effective and efficient use of Private Bank and broader Citi resources. • Encourage team members and partners to work together to deepen client relationships and exceed sales goals. Align complementary experiences and skill sets of team members to maximize client effectiveness. • Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly activities/initiatives to maximize revenue growth and client satisfaction. Developing and maintaining a sales pipeline while at the same time supporting in negotiating and closing deals. • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. • Performance will be based upon business and client growth objectives, and successful partnering with colleagues across the Firm. **Qualifications:** • Extensive and proven experience in Private/Institutional Banking, ideally having covered/having had exposure to the UHNW /Family Office segment • Project management skills: candidate must be highly organized and efficient; ability to effectively multi-task and adhere to daily time sensitive deadlines is critical. • Extensive experience in working with and/or leading Client/Citi teams and transactions • Exceptional consultative, analytical / business evaluation and problem solving skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across functional and geographical lines • Professional outlook with the ability to use initiative, manage deadlines, coordinate multiple tasks and work to deadlines and targets in an dynamic environment for a segment in continuous evolution • Having served in a senior family office role, preferably in an investment or financial capacity, augmented by (preferably) additional buy-side experience, and possess a deep understanding of the cultures and operating practices of family offices and having had exposure to family foundations and/or family businesses is a plus. • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Extensive travel is required. **Education** • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the Certification Regime.
