Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all building operations and sustainability initiatives, ensuring the facility remains safe, secure, and compliant with environmental, health, and security standards.
This role is pivotal in leading the organization’s sustainability programs, focusing on decarbonization, green technology adoption, and alignment with corporate sustainability goals. The individual will work to ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) meets ISO 14001 standards and local regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Sustainability Leadership & Program Development
Lead the development and execution of environmental sustainability programs that align with corporate objectives, focusing on achieving decarbonization goals and green technology integration.Research, analyze, and implement initiatives for reducing operational resource consumption and enhancing environmental performance.Collaborate with corporate teams to promote awareness and adoption of sustainability practices across departments.Energy & Resource Management
Identify and implement energy conservation measures to optimize electrical systems and reduce energy consumption in line with sustainability goals.Perform energy audits, including the measurement and verification (M&V) of energy, carbon emissions, and water usage.Conduct regular benchmarking of energy and water efficiency and develop strategies for performance improvement.Analyze building and chiller plant operation data to identify areas for potential energy savings and operational improvements.Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Management
Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) complies with ISO 14001 standards, overseeing the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental policies.Ensure compliance with local environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, mitigating environmental risks associated with facility operations.Facility Operations & Engineering
Manage all aspects of facility maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant building systems and services.Coordinate with stakeholders to plan, develop, and execute building projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety standards.Troubleshoot and resolve recurring operational and maintenance issues to minimize downtime and improve facility performance.Project & Contractor Management
Oversee facility projects related to the installation, relocation, or modification of building systems, utilities, and equipment.Manage external contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of work while adhering to safety standards and quality specifications.Budget & Resource Management
Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance, sustainability initiatives, and energy projects, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with organizational priorities.Monitor expenditures and ensure financial resources are used effectively to support facility operations and sustainability goals.Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Initiate and implement energy efficiency programs and continuous improvements to optimize energy performance and facility operations.Stay informed on industry trends, emerging green technologies, and regulatory changes to proactively improve facility sustainability and operational efficiency.Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with internal departments, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of energy projects and environmental initiatives.Provide regular reports on energy consumption, sustainability progress, and facility performance to senior management.Other Duties as Required
Perform any additional duties as required to support the organization’s sustainability and operational objectives.Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related disciplines) is preferred. Equivalent qualifications in relevant fields may also be considered.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Facilities Management, with a strong background in Electrical Systems, Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV), Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Protection System or similar engineering fields.Experience in managing and maintaining building systems, utilities, and equipment in a corporate or industrial environment.Possession of the Singapore Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification (Professional) is highly advantageous.Additional certifications or training in sustainability, energy management, or environmental systems will be considered beneficial.Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, effectively communicate with stakeholders, and drive change across the organization.Data Analysis: Proficient in analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and using insights to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of building systems, such as electrical, HVAC, BMS, and facility maintenance. Strong technical acumen in troubleshooting and optimizing building operations.Safety & Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements relevant to building systems and facility operations.Project Management: Experience in managing projects related to building infrastructure, facility upgrades, and energy-related initiatives, including planning, execution, and monitoring.Multitasking & Prioritization: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, effectively prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.An effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across departments and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment, maintaining a focus on delivering quality results and meeting organizational goals.Previous experience working in a Multinational Corporation (MNC), particularly in a manufacturing environment, is highly desirable.At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
