Danfoss in Forest City, NC is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team. The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and policies that ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety regulations, while driving continuous improvement in the plant’s safety culture and environmental sustainability.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local safety/environmental regulations. Maintain permits, documentation, and reporting for air, water, and waste programs. Cordinate and support external regulatory inspections and audits. Lead the developent and implementation of site safety policies and procedures. Conduct and coordinate safety training for all employees (e.g., PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, ergonomics, etc.) Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analysis (JHAs) Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses. Develop root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventative actions. Maintain OSHA 300 logs and other safety records. Manage waste disposal processes, emissions, and chemical handling in compliance and environmental laws. Develop intiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and emissions

Required (basic) qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Occupational Health, or related field. 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (extrusion or hose industry preferred). Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHMM, or equivalent credential is a plus. Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems is preferred.
Preferred qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suie and EHS compliance software. Experience leading audits and managing corrective actions. Ability to train and influence employees at all levels. Employee Benefits
