The Position
Novo Nordisk is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to set the direction within Safety and Environmental Sustainability at our new production site in Tietgenbyen in Odense.  
The team you will be managing covers our three top priorities: Environmental Sustainability and Energy (EE), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and Construction Safety (EHS-Team). 
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for creating safe, sustainable, and compliant work environments on our construction sites while collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.

As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Novo Nordisk, you will have the following responsibilities: 
•    Lead the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety strategies and processes for construction safety on building sites and within the office environment.
•    Serve as a key point of contact for environmental, health, and safety stakeholders, ensuring effective communication with networks and external partners.
•    Drive initiatives aligned with the Circular for Zero Strategy and Novo Nordisk sustainability goals.
•    Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, focusing on fire safety, construction safety, and risk mitigation strategies.
•    Build and lead a strong team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be expected to thrive in a dynamic environment with direct communication while managing multiple priorities effectively.

 

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you have:
•    A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Safety, Sustainability, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Engineering, or a related field.
•    A minimum of 5+ years of management experience in one or more of the following areas: Nature and Circular for Zero strategies, OHS & Design, Construction Safety on building sites.
•    Strong leadership skills with the ability to assertively influence and manage stakeholders in both the project organization and on the construction site.
•    A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and a resilient attitude, thriving in direct and dynamic communication settings.
•    A proven ability to set direction and establish clear priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Fluency in English (Danish is a plus).
