Your New Role:
We are seeking a skilled WFM Engineer to support the development, customization, integration, and automation of the Infor WFM (Workbrain) platform. This role focuses on implementing innovative workforce management solutions, automating processes, and delivering high-quality technical solutions to meet organizational goals and compliance needs.
As part of our People & Culture Tech team, you will contribute to system enhancements, data integrations, and automation initiatives to optimize labor scheduling, payroll, and workforce analytics. You will collaborate with senior developers, global teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and continuous system improvement, while honing and growing your technical expertise.
This role demands a deep understanding of core HR processes such as payroll, timekeeping, and workforce management. Additionally, the ability to translate these business processes into efficient, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions, including custom development, will be critical to success.
The ideal candidate will possess strong software development fundamentals and knowledge of industry-adopted tools and methodologies.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Development & Integration
Assist in the development and maintenance of the Infor WFM (Workbrain) platform with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
Build and maintain custom pay rules, entitlement configurations, and accrual processing using Workbrain APIs.
Support secure integrations with payroll systems, labor scheduling (LFSO/MVS), and third-party applications.
Collaborate on system integrations, troubleshoot data-related issues, and optimize system performance.
Automation & Process Improvement
Design and implement automation workflows for business processes and testing frameworks to minimize manual effort and improve efficiency.
Develop automation scripts for unit testing, regression testing, and recurring system operations.
Automate data cleansing, data migration, and other backend processes to enhance system reliability and accuracy.
Ticket Triaging & Issue Resolution:
Triage and resolve tickets by understanding the deeper issue from end-users, going beyond surface-level symptoms.
Work closely with end-users to identify root causes and implement solutions that address long-term needs rather than short-term fixes.
Provide clear, actionable solutions for recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Proactively document issue resolutions and share knowledge with the team to prevent similar issues in the future.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with senior developers and P&C stakeholders to gather and clarify business requirements.
Translate functional requirements into technical designs and implement solutions.
Collaborate with global teams to deliver project milestones and system enhancements.
Testing & Deployment
Conduct testing, debugging, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Create and maintain automated testing workflows to validate system functionality and performance.
Support user acceptance testing and ensure all issues are resolved prior to deployment.
Documentation & Reporting
Contribute to technical documentation, including integration workflows, test cases, and troubleshooting guides.
Support the creation of automated reports using Cognos BI and other reporting tools to provide actionable insights.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Technical Skills:
5-7 years' experience
3+ years of hands-on development experience with Infor Workforce Management (Workbrain)
Proficient in Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
Strong experience with Java web frameworks: JSP/Servlets, Struts, Spring MVC
Expertise in Relational Databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
Strong understanding of application architecture, performance optimization, and scalability
Experience building and integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party platforms
Proficiency in backend programming languages: Java, C#, Python, and Unix scripting.
Knowledge of database systems: SQL, NoSQL, PL/SQL queries, and stored procedures.
Familiarity with web development frameworks: Struts, Spring, or Spring Boot.
Experience with integration frameworks: Middleware, transformation, and error-handling logic.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and CI/CD processes.
Version control systems: Proficiency in Git or similar tools.
Testing expertise: Experience in unit testing, regression testing, and debugging methodologies.
Workforce Management Expertise:
Advanced understanding of Infor WFM (Workbrain) and its APIs, including pay rules, entitlement configurations, and accrual processing.
Exposure to labor scheduling (LFSO/MVS) and payroll systems integration.
Interest in workforce analytics and optimizing timekeeping processes.
Domain Expertise
Functional knowledge across HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems
Experience developing and supporting custom solutions for Workbrain modules including, but not limited to Timesheet customizations, Pay Rules, Data Events, Accruals, custom modules etc.
Integration experience with enterprise systems such as Workday, ADP, and ERP/Financial platforms
Background working in compliance-heavy industries such as Media & Entertainment, Retail or Financial Services
Compliance & Labor Rule Expertise
Demonstrated success implementing complex union-based agreements, especially under California labor law
California labor laws, including daily/weekly overtime, guarantee hours, split shifts, Shift premiums and complex meal/rest break compliance
Multi-union configurations and CBA-driven time rules in Workbrain
Ability to implement legal and contractual labor requirements via system rules/configuration
Ticket Management Skills:
Strong analytical skills to investigate root causes of recurring issues.
Ability to engage with end-users to fully understand their concerns and provide long-term resolutions.
Experience documenting ticket resolutions and sharing best practices to improve system operations.
Other Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage tasks independently while contributing to team goals.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development.
Not Required but preferred experience:
Experience with Cognos BI reporting or similar tools for workforce analytics.
Knowledge of automating business processes and testing frameworks.
Experience in Infor WFM Cloud SaaS (Single Tenant) environments.
Familiarity with Groovy scripting and its applications in workforce management.
