Position Title: Efficiency Engineer
Job Description:
Draka Elevator Products Inc. seeks an Efficiency Engineer to drive continuous improvement efforts and share best practices across plants in the North American market. The selected candidate will:
Utilize the manufacturing operational excellence model to drive continuous improvement in our facility.
Collaborate with business and manufacturing teams to identify key problem areas and implement effective solutions.
Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques, including SPC, process capability studies, measurement systems analysis, Kaizen, 6S, SMED, TPM, Poka-yoke, and other methodologies.
Manage the product development process in relation to customer needs.
Teach, mentor, and coach Lean Technicians and Greenbelts to support continuous improvement goals.
Monitor and evaluate product design variables to ensure results align with specifications.
Document technical data on materials, compounds, conductors, drums, machine selections, scrap rates, speed/time, and cost detention.
Use the company’s ERP system to manage and track sales, purchasing, warehousing, and production activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience (pre- or post-Bachelor's) as an Engineer or in a related role.
Experience must include:
Engineering processes including wire drawing, stranding, extrusion, regrinding, and wire screening
Data analysis and dashboard creation using Power BI
Project management across departments
Efficiency initiatives in manufacturing (e.g., scrap reduction, labor efficiency)
Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools
ERP systems, specifically SAP
Must be willing to travel 5% domestically.
