About the Role 

We are looking for a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail to prepare materials or works/products for publication in print and online formats, according to agreed quality standards and agreed deadlines. All products must be produced within approved budgetary constraints. This role reports to the Manager of Analytical in South Africa.

 
Responsibilities 

Planning and maintaining detailed content timelines for both print and digital formats, identifying potential bottlenecks, mitigating risks, and communicating deadlines to stakeholders. Reviewing, copyediting, and styling legal manuscripts to align with house style; conducting spot checks, coordinating quality assurance reviews, and monitoring legislative/case law updates for accuracy. Overseeing the creation of consolidated indexes, tables of cases, and statutory material; uploading and organizing content in relevant systems, and preparing annual or biannual supplements and cumulative volumes. Liaising with authors, freelancers, offshore production teams, and other internal collaborators to address editorial queries and keep publications on schedule. Compiling regular status reports for management, monitoring overall project progress, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Identifying areas for workflow improvement, recommending solutions, and implementing best practices to enhance editorial processes and production systems. When required, perform any of the above or other related functions in respect with the works/products of other departments

Requirements 

Have an excellent command of English languageAble to understand budgets and financial reportsBe competent in MS Office, especially MS WordHave a keen interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in legal research and documentation will be considered an asset.Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI technology and understanding how to integrate these tools into your workflow can significantly enhance your efficiency and accuracy.Able to adapt to changing business demandsAble to prioritise multiple projects or tasks such that the agreed publishing schedule is metHave good communication and interpersonal skills, tactfulness and diplomacy
