Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at our Worcester Distillery. The successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager: Distilleries.
Key Performance Areas include (but are not limited to):
• Set strategic direction and goals for Worcester Distillery within the overall divisional Key Performance Areas
• Effectively lead sub-ordinates to ensure a competent and motivated workforce
• Manage assets and financial resources to achieve short-, medium- and long-term goals
• Compile and effectively manage the budget for the distillery
• Ultimately responsible for all Capex projects at the site
• Effectively interface with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g. other Supply Chain operational divisions and CoE’s, internal customers, suppliers, etc.)
• Responsible for Safety, Health and Risk Control at the Worcester and Robertson sites
• Responsible for adherence to all relevant Environmental Management Policies
• Drive continuous improvement through innovation, effective problem solving and implementation of best practice at the site
• Drive compliance to Heineken global standards and business processes
• Responsible for the quality of all products produced at Worcester
• Responsible for the raw material intake for the site and final product dispatches from the site
• Responsible for the production and maturation of brandy
• Member of the sensory evaluation (tasting) panel
• Accountable for governance and loss control
• Custodian of the Quality Management Systems at the site
• Ultimately accountable for the Excise account at the site
• Legally appointed person for Worcester Distillery in terms of the OHSAct (i.e. item 16.2)
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications/experience/skills/attributes:
• A relevant National Diploma or equivalent, preferably in Sciences with at least 8 – 10 Years experience in Alcoholic Beverages production in a Leadership capacity, OR
• A relevant B-Degree, preferably in Sciences with at least 5 years relevant experience within the FMCG industry (especially Alcoholic Beverages production) at a senior level will be highly advantageous
• Excellent people management and -development skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Well-developed analytical and strategic thinking ability
• Excellent problem solving and planning ability
• Demonstrable knowledge of WCM practices will be highly advantageous
• SAP and Excise knowledge will be highly advantageous
• Sound Human Resource and Industrial Relations knowledge
