Reporting to the Vice President, the Director will be a key contributor to developing and acquiring business through tailored research initiatives leveraging diverse Ipsos products and gaining client credibility.
What you can expect to be doing:
Independently pricing and writing full proposals of large-scale ad-hoc research projects, with a goal of growing Ipsos business and presence with assigned clients Effectively lead client meetings, including agenda setting, time management, knowing what we need out of meeting, and ability to change directions/approach depending on client needs, ability to navigate/hold difficult and/or more challenging conversations with the client with senior support when needed Acting as primary project lead, be the point person for day-to-day clients & oversee project management and progress from start to finish - managing timelines and budget, reviewing materials and guiding/supporting junior staff. Performing data analysis and verification, testing hypotheses, drawing conclusions, preparing reports and presentations, and making recommendations from the data results based on the client’s business issues. Leads/co-leads final report writing elements, strategic client guidance and presentation of findings. Has a vision of the spectrum of client needs and helps connect the dots between projects. May include linking projects to each other, pulling in other service lines, proactively sharing Ipsos capabilities of interest, and more. May include new business outreach and structured business development plans Creating "internal brand" within Ipsos, and specific thought should be given to the unique area (whether client-facing and/or internal-facing) and activities that will help guide what they want to be "known for" as an expert within and outside of Ipsos May act as manager to one or more Account Managers/Senior Account Managers. This includes overseeing the training schedule, providing day-to-day guidance and supervision, and providing feedback (both ongoing and during annual review and goal setting). Holding financial responsibilities, actively managing the financial health of projects and accountsThis might be the job for you if you have:
7+ years of supplier-side market research experience, a strong focus on ad-hoc quantitative research - additional client-side experience is an asset Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are a must Strong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skills across various multi-variate analyses/modelling. Knowledge & experience in SPSS is an asset Highly motivated, self -directed and possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines and excelling in a fast-paced working environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills, are necessary Ability to oversee multiple projects, including managing the workload of direct reports Strong team leadership skills with experience in mentoring and/or managing others - ability to coach, guide and support direct reports Ability to think creatively about how to align the appropriate project resources, whether inside or outside of the immediate project team Knowledge & experience with market segmentation (customers, need states, demand space), shopper journey, usage and attitude, market landscape assessment/sizing/brand positioning strategy heavily desired. Analytic skills and proven ability to draw compelling insights from research data and industry insights to tell a compelling story High attention to detail – Ability to self-edit and deliver client-ready materials Strong consultative client relations management, business development, and selling skills – able to build strong and influencing relationships with client decision-makers Familiarity with retail, quick service restaurants (QSR), CPG, automobile industry is an assetIf you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage all who feel they might be a fit for the opportunity to apply.
