We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development and Capital Markets professional to join our Renewables Advisory team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the next chapter in the renewable energy market by identifying and executing tax credit, capital market and M&A transactions as needed. Position will report to the Head of Tax Equity Advisory at CBRE. **Key Responsibilities** Business Development Leadership + Lead origination efforts for tax equity, transferable tax credits (inc. tax credit insurance), M&A or other advisory mandates. + Drive strategic outreach to developers, investors, corporates, and institutional stakeholders. Relationship Management + Build, manage, and grow a pipeline of qualified partners and clients across the renewables ecosystem. + Act as a trusted advisor throughout the deal lifecycle—from initial conversations to post-closing engagement. Transaction Execution + Oversee the deal process, collaborating with legal, financial, and technical teams to support structuring, diligence, and closing of various transactions. + Support financial modeling, pricing, and risk assessment on active opportunities. Innovation & Product Development + Leverage market insights to identify emerging trends and new service opportunities. + Contribute to the design of new advisory products aligned with client needs and regulatory developments. Thought Leadership & Industry Presence + Represent CBRE Renewables at industry conferences and events. + Help shape go-to-market strategies and develop thought leadership content (whitepapers, webinars, etc.). Internal Reporting & Process Management + Obsessively implement and optimize process where needed including tracking pipeline, conversion rates, and deal metrics. + Provide regular internal reporting on progress, key milestones achieved, status, and clear next steps. **Qualifications** Required: + 7+ years of experience in business development, capital markets, project finance, or tax equity in the renewables sector. + Working knowledge of tax credit structures under the Inflation Reduction Act. + Strong relationship-building skills with decision-makers at sponsors, investors, and corporates. + Proven track record of sourcing and closing complex transactions. + Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. + Fluency in financial modeling, investment analysis, and understanding of how renewable energy projects are financed. + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Preferred: + Prior experience at an investment bank, renewable energy developer, tax equity investor, or infrastructure fund. + Familiarity with tax equity and tax credit transferability. + MBA, JD, or CFA preferred but not required. **Compensation & Benefits** CBRE considers multiple factors in setting compensation, including education, training, and experience. The salary range for this role is $160,000 – $200,000, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus under CBRE’s incentive compensation program.
