Job Description

Reporting to the BU Controller for Water, the Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the global accounting function, close process and internal controls structure for the House of Rohl (HoR) business within the Water segment and plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of the Company’s financial information. HoR is the Water segment’s high-end luxury brand business, with operations in North America and the UK. This pivotal leadership role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and team management. You will lead the House of Rohl Accounting team in maintaining accurate financial information, implementing internal controls, and collaborating with various cross functional teams including senior FBIN leadership.

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

What you will be doing

Lead, develop, and mentor a multinational accounting team, identify areas of opportunity, implement process improvements and leverages technology to be more efficient and effective, leverage AI opportunities and drive automation of manual processes.Responsible for the period end close process and financial reporting, ensuring complete and accurate accounting processes for the HoR businesses, including consolidations and intercompany accounting, including monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting to parent company of actual financial results and required SEC disclosures.Ensure that the HoR businesses consolidated financial information is prepared and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including ensuring that all transactions are correctly presented through review of account reconciliations and understanding of business transaction flows.Partner closely with House of Rohl leadership to provide additional transparency of costs and more timely information to speed up the month-end close.Oversee EMEA statutory reporting, determining statutory auditor strategy, and working closely with the local accounting team, FBIN tax, tax advisors and auditors to ensure legal entity books and records are maintained for compliance.Participate in enterprise-wide month-end closing procedures.Partner with Corporate Accounting for purchase accounting, valuation and accounting integration of newly acquired entities. And other ad hoc complex accounting transactions.Responsible for setting the tone at the top that to establish a strong internal control environment at House of Rohl.Work closely with Internal Controls and House of Rohl teams to maintain effective internal controls compliant with SOX 404 and drive remediation of any deficiencies as needed.Establish a clear governance and responsibility structure between controllership and finance teams.Act as key liaison for all audits conducted by Fortune Brands Internal Audit and our external auditors.Stay current on accounting statements and pronouncements and provide interpretation on their applicability to the HoR businesses.Lead a team of accounting professionals including completing year-end evaluations and having career development conversations year-round.Recruit and train professional staff, communicate strategic initiatives, administer work expectations and regulations, and provide ongoing employee development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA required.12+ years in a public accounting, financial reporting or controllership role, including consolidations experience with a multi-national company.5+ years of management experience required.Must possess sound technical knowledge of US GAAP.Extensive experience operating within an effective internal control environment.Detail-oriented with the highest regard for accuracy, completeness, and meeting deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with SAP and Oracle FCCS.Strong skills using the Microsoft suite of tools.Experience with AI and automation tools.Experience with overseas statutory audit processes.Public accounting experience preferred.Prior public company experience preferred.

Additional Information:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $120,000 USD - $192,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
