Job overview and responsibilities

As a Software Developer in the Customer Technology Platform department, you'll be instrumental in creating high-performing services and real-time messaging applications for key airline functionalities. Your work will directly impact our customer facing and and operational systems, supporting United's commercial and digital channels.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Develop and maintain Java-based applications, using Java 17/21 and SpringBoot 3.x.Utilize AWS services such as EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, S3, SNS/SQS Event Driven Messaging, DynamoDB, and IAM.Implement robust unit tests with JUnit 5 and Mockito 5Apply GitHub Actions for continuous integration and continuous deployment strategies.Representing the development team in cross-team meetings, including project design discussions, troubleshooting sessions, and evaluations of new tools. Collaborate on architectural designs and project planningParticipating in day-to-day development activities Advocating for a “shift-left” testing and automation within CICD pipelines, Adhering to security standardsReduce code complexity through design patterns and refactoring  Communicate effectively to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence  Write technical documentation  

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or professional degree AWS or other Cloud Certifications 4+ years of relevant experience in a development role Solid understanding of Java 17/21 and SpringBoot 3.xExperience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit 5 and Mockito 5.Knowledge of GitHub Actions.Experience with AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Route 53, Reddis Cache, IAM Role, S3 Bucket, DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL, SQS/SNS Experience in implementing microservices and asynchronous processing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position 

 

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
