Responsibilities:

The primary role of the Demand Planner is to establish and refine an item level demand plan using statistical and analytical tools, intelligence gathering, and internal and external collaboration. The Demand Planner will be responsible for aligning the system forecast with the business sales plan to drive improved serviced and inventory performance. The improvement of forecast accuracy and bias metrics are the key business measures used to determine effectiveness and process control. 

 

Duties:

Manage all aspects related to the 18-month, demand plan for assigned accounts or customer channel groups Work with Sales, Category Managers, Marketing contacts to reflect promotional volumes as well as phase-in/phase-out plans supporting New Product Introductions and Discontinuations to provide demand visibility in the system for Supply Chain execution Monitor and adjust the sku-level demand plan using analytical and statistical tools, intelligence gathering and collaboration Execute all existing analytical tools and business processes to drive sku-level forecast accuracy and bias metric improvements and maintain overall plan alignment with the sales plan Lead the monthly collaborative planning cycle outlined by the S&OP process to achieve a consensus demand plan by working with Sales, Channel Marketing, customer contacts, and Category Management Acquire, understand, and incorporate customer data, insight and replenishment triggers in the development of the sku-level demand plan Prepare and present the strategic account demand changes, performance results, and future plans at the S&OP Demand Agreement Meeting Support continuous improvement initiatives to refine existing process and tools and to develop the next generation of activities Collaborate with the Strategic Account Planning and Services team to communicate the impact of demand changes and promotional or placement events on the strategic account relationship and order management activities

 

Climate:

Demanding, fast-paced position resulting from deadline pressures, simultaneous competing demands and changing priorities.  The position works within a team environment, requiring communication with all levels of management and other departments. 

 

Requirements:

BA/BS degree preferably in Business or Supply Chain Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills 0-4 yrs experience in demand planning or supply chain Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills Experienced leveraging computer desktop applications (Excel, Power Point) skills Excellent organizational and teamwork skills Ability to build relationships and provide effective customer service (internal and external) Occasional travel as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Consumer Products Industry Experience APICS certification Demonstrated strong MRP/Planning skills, SAP IBP experience preferred
