Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS/CS and/or certifications related to Unix/Linux and/or Database administration
Work experience: 7 years' experience in QAD and Progress Database administration and Unix/Linux administration
• Administer and maintain computerized databases, ensuring high availability, efficiency, and data security.
• Analyze information requirements and develop specifications for database design and maintenance.
• Manage all source code within the environment and provide guidance on policies, technical issues, and data structure strategies.
• Collaborate with data center teams to maintain and upgrade Unix/Linux and Microsoft Windows servers and operating systems.
• Perform system and network programming, software maintenance, security administration, and backup/recovery processes.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned systems and shared infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and system reliability.
• Monitor and improve service performance through system tuning, Progress database tuning, development refreshes, and application upgrades.
• Administer QAD applications and related system environments.
• Maintain Unix/Linux printing, Samba services, and source control systems.
• Support users and manage scheduling tasks via Cron and Windows batch tools.
• Create and maintain Unix/Linux scripts and configure kernels as needed.
• Manage Active Directory groups and assist with patching/security on Windows application servers.
• Implement new systems or upgrades by participating in planning, execution, and documentation to meet project and change control standards.
• Participate in compliance activities such as the annual Self-Assessment Template (ASAT).
• Coordinate with global teams to streamline compliance efforts across centralized systems and infrastructure.
