What you'll be doing:
Hardware installation & configuration of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure. Rack installation including racking of components, putting racks in place, cabling, power up and handoff of servers to internal provisioning teams. Rack deinstallation including power off, removal of cabling, removal of rack components. Hardware Break/Fix replacement of FRUs Troubleshooting and resolve Telco Connectivity issues Troubleshoot & Replace Network Switch equipment You will communicate within a ticketing environment that is used and supervised by multiple internal Oracle Cloud service owners and teams. Documentation of activities and build/modify SOPs Structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables. You should be able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects.Requirements:
Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware. Strong interest in learning new DC concepts. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strict attention to detail Quality assurance Shift schedule may include weekends and holidays. 3+ years working in an IT environment. Inventory management experience. Ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts. Experience taking on-call shifts and ability to respond to critical events as needed. Experience raising issues to senior onsite staff and management as needed. IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, SAN, SCSI, Linux/Unix, GRUB) Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is a plusPreferred Qualifications
