**DESCRIPTION** Apply highly specialized knowledge of statistical and life data analysis techniques to statistically quantify the reliability impact of design change. Utilize distribution analysis and censored data analysis techniques to choose appropriate distribution that models the behavior of the data most appropriate. Apply highly specialized knowledge of statistical analysis tools including Minitab, MATLAB, JMP and warranty databases to analyze existing component or system reliability, report the reliability per the customer's reporting requirements, and provide interpretation of the results. Utilize Statistical Process Control to measure and control quality during manufacturing processes. Utilize Product Problem Solving, process map, control plan and Six Sigma DMAIC (Define Measure Analysis Improvement and Control) to solve problems. Provide reliability comparisons and assessments across the product range to current product problem solving teams as well as finance and marketing functions and identify and report adverse or favorable trends in current product reliability. Participate in the development of related reliability tools and methods in order to analyze product reliability. Translate the business requirements into technical requirements for Reliability Application enhancements and day to day outfiles management tasks. Provide reliability comparisons and assessments across company products using computer related equipment and components. Utilize Quantitative Reliability Analysis to establish failure rate models for use in assessing the feasibility of meeting reliability targets, comparing reliability of product alternatives, estimating reliability and product coverage costs, identifying emerging issues and verifying reliability improvements have been implemented. Assess risks considering factors and implications for stakeholders and evaluate the impact of global trends on the organization /function using 7-step problem solving process and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) while developing strategies to enhance the business competitiveness. Develop and analyze test plans considering schedule, applications, noises and locations to find unknown failure modes to improve reliability. Define and lead a process to record, prioritize and resolve product failures using cross-functional reviews, rigorous problem solving methods, failed parts transfer processes, data management tools, and project management practices to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of the product using Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Prevention Action Systems. Plan and manage critical reliability activities during new product development by preventing failures before hardware, detecting failures and improving products before production in order to release a reliable and durable product using knowledge of Product Reliability and Reliability Risk Management. **RESPONSIBILITIES** Positions require a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Mechanical, Design, Product Validation, Service or Current Product Reliability Engineer, or related position.
