Job Description
As a Country Sales Director you will provide strategic direction and maximize growth and performance for a sales team based in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa Countries. You will develop and nurture strategic executive-level relationships with key customers, partners, and other regional growth influences.
We are looking for a leader capable of not only driving growth, but also passionate about creating an inclusive environment that enables their team to make an impact, develop people and organizations in alignment with the growth strategy. The Country Sales Director, together with the team, will be primarily responsible for capitalizing on accelerated growth opportunities in the region, driving sales to direct large end users and machine builders and partners buying through our authorized distribution network.
You should also understand the industrial market - manufacturing of goods across discrete, hybrid, or process environments. Familiarity with the end user and machine building ecosystem is mandatory.
This role is a key contributor to the global Sales & Marketing strategy and drives alignment with the EMEA regional priorities.
In this role based in Johannesburg, South Africa under a hybrid working model, you will report to the Regional VP Sales - META.
Your Responsibilities:
Functional (Sales)
Manage selling resources to increase market penetration and market share, assures market coverage and provide the appropriated customer focusManage the implementation of sales and marketing strategies specific for the country, as subset of RA global and pan-EMEA strategies, to ensure that annual operating targets are met, and long-term growth goals are achievedImplement growth plans and support industry specific activitiesMonitor sales activities and take appropriate actions to meet region sales targetsAllocate resources to opportunities and match skills to our needsPromote sales teaming between branches and countries for multi-location accountsBuild relationships with senior levels at main customers and contribute to the sales process.When part of the market access plan collaborate with channels management to increase market reach, assure sales coverage and provide appropriate customer orders fulfillmentEnsure reporting and ensure use and maintenance of the sales and customer relationship management tools.Ensure account planning according to RA standards and lead the implementation of Disciplined Sales Processes in the countryDevelop and implement individual sales goals and actions for the selling resources within the geographical area, with the regional directionSupport and collaborate with Marketing organization with planning of sales and commercial actionsSupport and co-ordinate activities with other Rockwell Automation resources. Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience in sales with five or more years in a technology-based organization and industry. Exposure to customers in Africa. Understanding of how global companies work is a major plus.Experience delivering on strategy and exceeding results on technology-based solutions with customer business outcomes, first and foremost at end users' level, with an exposure in the machine builder market.Experience in consultative selling approach for automation products, services, and solutions.Knowledge in implementing BBBEE's strategies.The ability to travel 30% of the time.Industry Experience
Work in a B2B environment, and knowledge of industrial automation products and processes.Experience beyond selling components. Selling outcomes to customers via technology, solutions, and services.Experience on driving ARR models – Licenses and services which drive annual recurring revenue. Experience implementing LAER concepts -Land, Adopt, Expand and Renew. Working with customer success and customer care.Work with all levels of a manufacturing enterprise – CxO, operations leadership, technical leadership, plant leadership and OEM machine builders.What We Offer:
