Country Counsel - Argentina

If so, lets talk. **Your role and responsibilities** The Country Counsel will provide overall legal support to the IBM organization in Argentina and Uruguay, including the negotiation of complex transactions with domestic and foreign commercial accounts as well as government clients, for the provision of technology products and services, including consulting and business processes outsourcing, software licensing, cloud and artificial intelligence solutions. Also, this professional will be responsible for the management of HR and Procurement legal matters, litigation, environmental, regulatory and corporate affairs of the IBM’s companies in the countries in scope, reporting to the Spanish South America Regional Counsel. **Required technical and professional expertise** * JD Degree, licensed to practice in Argentina, LLM desirable. This role also considers the provision of legal support for Uruguay and Paraguay. * + 15 years of legal experience in an in-house counsel position or a law firm, with strong knowledge in commercial, corporate, data privacy, public procurement and labor law. Management of litigation cases. * Fluency in English is essential Key competencies required: * Relationship building - Capable to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders of the company, while preserving the ability to function independently. * Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills, including the ability to articulate a clear vision and explain legal concepts in a clear, simple and compelling manner. * Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills. * Critical thinking and problem solving - Ability to spot and assess legal risks, resolving issues effectively. * Business enabler attitude. * Highly collaborative and proactive person, with the ability to prioritize and to work in a fast-paced environment. Capable to successfully execute team leading functions. * Creativity and innovation - Able to apply innovative solutions to improve performance; challenge others to identify creative approaches to problems; provide support and guide to others when they attempt to innovate; generate new and actionable ideas. * Integrity - Able to maintain the highest standards of integrity and business ethics; maintain explicit and implicit confidences, build trust with others by acting consistently with organizational expectations, be tactful and helpful, honest and truthful with coworkers, clients and management; show consistency between words and actions; build on the suggestions/ideas of others to lead to new approaches and improvements. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Experience in tech industry is a plus.
