Counsel Job ID 220784 Posted 22-May-2025 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Legal Location(s) Shanghai - Shanghai - China **About the Role:** As a CBRE Counsel, you will be responsible for overseeing legal support services for a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects. This job is part of the Legal Services job function. They are responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance in the ordinary and special activities of the organization. **What You’ll Do:** + Review and negotiate documents and litigation review in compliance with various statutory requirements. + Provide legal counsel and guidance to managers, executives, and employees on legal aspects of various business lines. + Represent the company during court appearances on subpoenas. + Investigate claims and complaints by or against the company, including interviewing relevant parties and prepare reports based on findings. + Manage own litigation and monitor outside counsel retained for matters as needed. + Conduct legal training and assist in the preparation of training materials for various lines of business. + Review annual D&O questionnaires prior to mailing. + Spearhead project teams. This includes planning and supervising assignments of lower-level employees. Mentor junior coworkers and provide informal help, such as technical guidance. + Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems. + Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement. + Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team. + Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. + Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations. **What You’ll Need:** + Juris Doctorate and Member of State Bar in good standing required with 2-5 years of relevant experience. + Ability to work without supervision, manage many tasks, and set priorities with excellent follow-up skills and organization. + Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. + Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
