The Commercial Strategy and Government Affairs Leader is responsible for collaborating across OpCo to develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company’s goals and promoting long term business opportunity for Cytiva in Japan by influencing government and participating in industry-related associations and advocacy groups to further the organization’s interest. This position reports to the country GM and is part of the BP organization located in Tokyo, Japan. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery. What you will do: + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RFM, HW Solutions, Discovery & Medical, Genomic Medicine) to develop and implement effective commercial strategies to drive growth and revenue generation + Analyze market trends, competitor behaviour, and consumer insights to identify business opportunities + Monitor and evaluate the performance of commercial initiatives, identify potential risks and challenges in the execution of commercial strategies and develop mitigation plans + Identify growth-opportunities and develop and lead account-based commercial initiatives + Participate in industry-related associations and advocacy groups to further the organization’s interest and lead Cytiva’s involvement in Biomanufacturing Council + Develop and implement strategies to influence government policy and liaise with government officials and representatives at all levels to build and maintain positive relationships + Represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and negotiations with government bodies and industry-related groups + Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on relevant government activities and policy development + Organise and support industry-related events to promote collaboration with customers and industry-related bodies, both across Cytiva and Danaher Who you are: + Postgraduate in life science or closely related field or MBA. + 10+ years of experience in sales and/or working within the Bioprocess industry; Biotech/Life Sciences and/or Biopharmaceutical industries. + Strong knowledge of Life Sciences production and process with basic understanding of manufacturing in the industry. + Strategic sales development experience in a complex and competitive industrial environment. + Fluency in Japanese and business-level English. Good communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills and high ability to work in a team. + Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products.
