Position Statement
\nCommercial Director, New Openings – Greater China & Mongolia supports commercial management efforts for both GCM Hilton managed and franchise hotel portfolio with a goal of getting our newly opened and converted commercially ramped up as soon as possible. This is accomplished through analysis of hotel/portfolio performance, development of commercial strategies and tactics to improve portfolio performance, communication of Hilton commercial best practices, commercial property consultations, remote performance auditing, and training facilitation. The establishment of effective working relationships with Senior Commercial leadership, Brand teams, General Managers, Commercial Directors, Management and Ownership groups is also a critical component of this position. This role must have strong communication and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to think strategically to resolve business challenges. This position recommends and coordinates commercial strategies for all new and conversion hotels within GCM and supplies critical analysis on company-wide decisions affecting pricing, occupancy, revenue goals and brand sales strategies. In accordance with the GCM regional Hilton managed and franchise strategic priorities, this role must develop strategies that assist in meeting these commercial goals. This will be further achieved by closely following commercial opportunities available and working across the region with other commercial and brand partners.
\nSupport Commercial Success of New Openings and Conversion Hotels
· The responsibility of Commercial Director, New Openings is to support commercial success of all new openings, conversions, and management type conversions from managed/leased to franchise.
\n· The role will engage frequently with hotels and management company representatives to support them in building their own commercial action plans, provide strategic advice and address questions about Hilton's business processes and products, ensuring their teams are making full use of the Hilton’s commercial engine.
\n· This role will drive and lead ramping up efforts via conducting monthly commercial reviews and working with regional commercial functions to support delivery of actions that will drive premium market share.
\n· The role is required to work with the Openings & Operations Support team and Revenue Management Openings Support team to ensure the right processes are built and adhered to ensure smooth hotel transition from Pre-opening teams to post-opening support functions.
\n· The role is responsible for tracking assigned openings and ramp up performance to identify opportunity properties and determine appropriate courses of action to achieve improved market share.
Commercial Engine and Brand -Support and Collaboration
\n· Act as a Commercial liaison to brand team members. Determine the most effective means of partnering with Brand Performance Support, RMCC centers, Hilton Worldwide Sales, E-commerce, and Marketing to achieve commercial objectives.
\n· Assist in the preparation of training materials/courses and documentation designed to support the education of brand teams in support of APAC commercial goals. As required, facilitate or lead commercial discussions with brand team and commercial team members and collaborate to develop and prioritize commercial generating ideas.
\n· As appropriate, participate in brand and commercial team meetings to keep the commercial department informed of projects and initiatives that impact commercial performance for new Openings, Conversions and management type conversions.
\n\nWhat will I be doing?
\n· Ensure hotel teams utilize all the best practices and standard operating procedures to capitalize and maximize revenue potential
\n· Work closely with RMCC partners, Openings & Support teams, Revenue Management Openings Support teams, other Regional Commercial and Revenue Management Directors and feed ideas and suggestions to strive for constant improvement of operating procedures
\n· Support the enterprise to create a model for openings based on typology of properties
\n· Multicultural understanding, with a diverse geography need to adapt to local needs still deploying key Hilton concepts to ensure success commercially but also with all stakeholders around the property
\n· Build and maintain effective working relationships and communication with:
\n· Hotel Management teams
\n· Commercial teams (Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors of Franchise Support & RMCC leadership)
\n· Other disciplines, i.e. Brand Management, Hilton Worldwide Sales, Hilton Managed Sales, E-commerce & Marketing to maintain their trust and confidence in the commercial strategy delivery
\n· Ability to effectively plan and proactively communicate with stakeholders that may include both internal and external partners (project sponsors/senior leadership team)
\n· Excellent written and oral communications skills to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner

\n· Multi brand experience from Focus Service to Luxury brands
\n· Stakeholder management experience ability to effectively plan and proactively communicate with stakeholders that may include both internal and external partners (project sponsors/senior leadership team)
\n· Demonstrate effectiveness in each area including communication, planning, expectation management, negotiation, project management and problem solving
\n· Management skills such as leadership, organization, communication, networking, collaboration and solid judgment
\n· Significant experience within the hotel industry along with a college degree
\n· Strong communication skills
\n· Commercial attitude with experience and functional knowledge of the different commercial functions
\n· Strong organizational skills and an ability to work effectively under pressure as well as meet given deadlines

Required Qualifications
\n· A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in hospitality or equivalent industry.
\n· A minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a hospitality industry leadership role within the Greater China experience preferred in Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management or Operating roles.
\n· Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
\n· Excellent in Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
\n· Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings.
\n· University degree at bachelor level or above.
\n\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n· Previous relevant experience in a regional role is preferred.
\n· Experience dedicated to pre-opening is preferred.
\n· Applicants with additional language skills preferred i.e., Cantonese.
\n· Hospitality industry experience preferred in Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management or Operating roles.
