This Cloud Blackbelt role comprises a combination of both technical and soft skills. If you have strong all-round technical skills, the ability to engage with people, can build trusted relationships, communicate ideas, and build consensus, then you are just the kind of person we are looking for.

Your contribution will be pivotal in helping customers to understand their current deployments, designing both large-scale strategic architectures as well as focused solution design to address a both the customer’s short-term and long-term needs as they embark on their cloud journey.

What you’ll do

Networking & Connectivity play an important role in all workload architecture engagements and you will be playing a key role to design the solution architecture, map it to the customer’s application requirements and help create a best practice solution for the customer.

You will have the additional responsibility to drive the creation of a range of reference architectures, best practice templates and design patterns to deliver standard solutions of the highest quality, adhering to Oracle standards.

You can look forward to being an active participant in the Architecture Community within Oracle, both using and contributing to reference architectures. The Oracle architecture community is friendly and supportive, and you will be able to call upon the broader community for help, and in time contribute to the community.

We are rolling out new Services at cloud speed and developing deep expertise quickly is critical. Continually developing our Blackbelts is of critical importance to Oracle, and as a motivated individual you will have the opportunity to stay abreast of new technologies, new products, and services, and to stay very much in touch with emerging technology both inside and outside Oracle.

What You’ll Bring

Your enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for customer success will help us become the number one cloud company in the world. Deep technical expertise and architectural experience are clearly important aspects to this role. These include:

Good understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on-premises/cloud designs The ability to quickly understand existing on-premises customer systems and applications and map those to cloud architectures and solutions. Strong skillset to develop scalable, robust network architectures to enable customers deploy and migrate workloads in the cloud. Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure including compute, network, storage, connectivity as well as management areas such as automation, operations management, orchestration, and DevOps. Excellent communication and presentation skills with high degree of comfort speaking across all levels of management (e.g. IT management, Architects, administrators and executives) Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build & operate in cross-functional teams to deliver complex solutions and architecture.

 

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

In addition, several technical skills will also be needed within this role and the more of these you have, the better you will fit the role. We group skills into five main areas, and if you have most of the skills in any one group, then you may be the right person for us!

Working in an IT related role today (pre-sales consultant, Solution Engineering, technical support, consulting, development) Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including but not limited to OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP. Complete knowledge of networking and virtualization. Experience on working with Cloud Networking is mandatory. Experience implementing connectivity solutions utilizing one or more of the following technologies: SD-WAN, IPSec tunnels, MPLS networks, Ethernet private line services, and/or wavelength services. Familiarity with at least one of the following areas: Networking (OSPF, BGP, ECMP, NAT), VPN IPsec, SSL), Load Balancing (SLB, NLB), DNS, Cloud NextGen Firewalls. Experience with network tuning and performance. Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions is a plus. Extensive experience with scripting or automation frameworks such as Terraform, Python, or other languages is a plus. Industry networking certifications are a plus.

 

Non-Technical:

Good communication skills, both oral and written! You can not only understand complex technologies but also to explain to others in clear and simple terms. You can articulate key messages very clearly. Being able to present in front of customers. Working with virtual teams across the globe and interacting with people across the organization as well as customers. Openness to work with different languages & cultures. Self-motivated, you have the natural drive to learn and pick up new challenges. Results orientation, you won’t be satisfied until the job is done with the right quality! You will have to demonstrate leadership qualities, have community presence and contribution to blogs, webcasts etc. will be expected Language skills in German, Arabic, French or Italian would be a plus

Other:

Experience: minimum of 15 years. Work experience in a similar role is an added advantage. 

Hiring Level: IC4/IC5 depending on experience.
