Business Intelligence Engineer, European Inventory Management (EIM)
Description European Inventory Management (EIM) team is looking for talented Business Intelligence Engineer who thrives in a highly collaborative, creative, ambiguous, analytical, and fast-paced environment. The candidate should have a proven ability to develop, enhance, automate, and manage analytical models using strong quantitative skills. The successful candidate will have strong data mining and modelling skills and is comfortable facilitating ideation and working from concept through to execution. This role will also build tools and support structures needed to analyze data, dive deep into data to determine root cause of buying, sustainability (carbon footprint), efficiency systems errors & changes, and present findings to business partners to drive improvements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity. Successful candidates should excel at diving into data in order to analyze root causes and implement simple, long term solutions. The ideal candidate is a natural self-starter who is comfortable working within a cross functional environment, supporting multiple stakeholders and initiatives. You will have a true hands-on approach, strong analytic skills, including the ability to gain true insights from data, and be an effective communicator. You will be comfortable to challenge internal customers’ decisions by using appropriate and useful data. The role is open in Amazon EU office in London. Key job responsibilities Experience with SQL Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools Experience in the data/BI space Bachelor's degree required. Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or any similar discipline with a clear analytical focus, 4+ years of work experience of analysing and interpreting data as a business intelligence engineer, data engineer, or at a similar capacity Working knowledge of data mining and modelling using statistical software like R, Python, Matlab, etc Advanced knowledge of SQL, intermediate knowledge of Python Proficient using at least one data visualization product (Tableau, Qlik, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, etc.) Experience working with large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources Ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders Ability to take complex business problems and translate them into clear and accurate results Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results Strong verbal and written communications skills at an executive level that enable you to explain complex insights with clarity and precision. Must be detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on issues Basic Qualifications - Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab - Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling - Experience with SQL - Experience in the data/BI space Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
