Accountability Statement:
Reporting to the Global Footwear Segment Director, the Business Development Manager will have a shared accountability for new business development at targeted brands in athletic footwear markets, positioning Estane® Engineered Polymers as the sustainable elastomer solutions and preferred partner. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of winning competitive position at large, complex brand OEM business and will be directly accountable for customer and end-user engagement, brand OEM account management, identifying and qualifying new opportunities by working closely with our internal teams globally across functions and external partners in alignment with global footwear segment growth strategy. The initial scope of the region is going to be China.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop new business opportunities and sales pipelines with targeted footwear brands and their suppliers by leveraging market trends, value chain understanding, and Lubrizol strategies. Focus on discovering opportunities in new applications, such as shoe sole foams. Lead and support cross-regional business opportunities in Asia and globally, collaborating with regional staff. Develop new customers and partnerships to strengthen long-term business growth and execute growth strategies regionally and globally. Build and maintain multi-level business relationships with targeted brands and value chain players, while leading innovation and managing product life cycles to convert new developments into commercial sales.

Requirements:

Around 10 years of marketing, sales, technical sales or business development experience in elastomers, plastics, rubbers, other specialty chemical materials preferably applications or product development experience Proven track record in growing new business in global brands and value chain partners, preferably in footwear and/or consumer markets Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver professional presentations, communication & presentational skills Experienced in leading other functional teams on commercial programs at excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to drive results from buying-in trust and motivation in a multi-culture, matrixed global organization Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial individual with a positive attitude Ability to travel domestically and internationally Fluent in Chinese and English
