Position Description  

The Business Analyst Specialist can be technology generalists or specialists, providing an array of services such as business process improvement, priority-setting facilitation, project definition or design, and broker IT and contract services. The candidate should have 4+ years of experience in IT, business process design, or relevant consulting roles with proven success of project implementations.  Complex problem solving and decision-making skills are required. Have extensive knowledge of the assigned business area's products and processes.  Having experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business and extensive experience in the business process re-engineering utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change is also required. In addition, they will have strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to our business users.

Competent at managing their time, have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, can deliver consistent results and are self-directed. Considered a member of a team focused on delivering business goals by following structured processes and procedures to deliver results. Share responsibility within the team to ensure on-time product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities as well as the ability to act effectively as a team member. Demonstrate the ability to effectively provide direction on complex scenarios that lead to process change.  They directly influence the portfolio planning priorities and outcomes. Frequently demonstrated strong coaching skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and direct others on global process within and outside areas of immediate expertise. 

Provide project management deliverables for one or more projects and are expected to give directions to the project members, both PPG employees and contract resources. They may oversee multiple small projects simultaneously while managing a single large one. Participate in prioritizing resources and tasks, developing risk contingencies, adjusting project scope, interacting with purchasing, and providing management feedback. Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts. Identify barriers to meeting project goals and provide solutions that keep projects on track and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to communicate with all levels of management

Excellent knowledge of PPG’s products and business processes

Understanding of the existing IT solutions used by PPG businesses

Extensive experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business

Understanding of how IT impacts an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes

In-depth experience in helping businesses to focus and articulate a future business vision in terms of redesigned business processes and related business requirements

Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement is required, involving broad-based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to support business change

Detailed knowledge of applications & technology directions and their capability to contribute to solving business problems

Experienced in project management methodologies and practices and execution of large enterprise projects

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing such as White Papers or training material

Ability to be comfortable in a nonhierarchical, flat organization and, if required, operate under a dual reporting relationship; ability to thrive in an unstructured hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach

Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to learn quickly to develop effective working relationships across a diverse team of functional, technical, and business partners

Qualifications

A degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience 
 4+ years of IT, business process engineering, project management, or a related discipline experienceExperience with ERP systems is desired but not required.  Knowledge of SAP system is highly beneficialAbility to interact with and lead both technical (IT) team members and business team members to achieve project success. Strong understanding of business process mapping and design is required. Strong Analytical and conceptual skillsStrong oral and written communication skills, including technical writingAbility to collaborate within a global team & positive team spiritAble to work remotely and comfortably, primarily using virtual means to collaborate with colleagues and managersMust be able to work independently without close supervisionFluent communication in Chinese and EnglishHighly motivated with a commitment to delivering high quality work in a dynamic fast paced environment
