This role requires expertise in BMS design, automation control systems, and HVAC-related infrastructures. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential to ensure competitive and technically sound estimates. Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales & Estimation • Develop accurate cost estimates for BMS projects, considering labor, materials, and integration costs. • Support pre-sales activities by assessing project requirements and proposing cost-effective solutions. • Prepare and review bid documents, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industry standards. Technical Expertise • Maintain deep knowledge of BMS architectures, including Niagara AX, N4, and associated components. • Understand HVAC control strategies, automation protocols, and system integration requirements. • Evaluate new products to ensure compliance with client-approved specifications. Project Estimation & Cost Analysis • Perform project take-offs and prepare cost estimates using CBRE tools. • Ensure profitability by maintaining company margins in all estimates and proposals. • Evaluate design alternatives for cost, profitability, and system performance. Project Coordination & Collaboration • Work closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to refine proposals and optimize cost structures. • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and validate component feasibility. • Attend project kickoff meetings and provide estimation insights for execution planning. Operational Efficiency & Collaboration • Attend project kickoff meetings and collaborate across departments for project success. • Continuously identify and report on efficiencies in estimating, design, submittals, purchasing, and operations processes. Site Visits & Documentation • Conduct site assessments when required to gather project details and validate assumptions. • Prepare detailed scope-of-work (SoW) documentation, ensuring clarity for all stakeholders. Key Skills & Competencies • Ability to read and interpret BMS/HVAC technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics. • Strong proficiency in estimation tools and software. • Analytical mindset with attention to cost control and profitability. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented. Required Experience • Must be able to read and understand HVAC and process mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc. • Capable of making independent decisions based on technical experience as it relates to estimating mechanical systems application and design. • Knowledge of commercial Heating & Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. • Knowledge of commercial Heating & Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) control systems. • Knowledge of arithmetic and algebra. • Knowledge of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Applications, Google Drive, Email, AutoCAD, and various other applications.
